Who We Are

CheckMySkin (ABN: 76 154 461 539) is an AI-powered skin screening service founded and supported by qualified dermatologists. Our platform combines advanced AI analysis with real medical expertise — helping you identify potential skin concerns early and connect with a licensed specialist when it matters. Contact us at [email protected].

1. What Information We Collect

We collect information in two stages depending on the service you use.
For free AI screening, we collect the skin image you upload and basic metadata such as the time and device type. For expert dermatologist review, we additionally collect your age, gender, skin tone, and any clinical details you provide, along with your payment information, which is processed securely by Stripe — we do not store your card or payment details.
We also collect standard website analytics data (page visits, browser type) to improve our service.

2. Why We Collect It

Your image and health information is used solely to provide AI analysis and, if requested, expert medical review. We do not use your photos for marketing, advertising, or AI model training without your explicit separate consent.

3. Health Information & Australian Privacy Law

Your skin images and clinical details are classified as sensitive health information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We handle this information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and applicable health records legislation.

4. International Data Transfers

Our AI screening uses third-party AI services whose servers may be located outside Australia. By using our service, you consent to this transfer. We ensure any such transfers meet Australian Privacy Principle 8 requirements.

5. International Users

If you are accessing our Service from outside Australia (for example Singapore, New Zealand, the United States, or the European Union), we apply the same protections described in this Policy — encryption in transit and at rest, no sale of your data, and access restricted to your reviewing clinician — regardless of your location. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights under local privacy law (for example Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act, New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020, US state laws such as California's CCPA, or — for EU residents — the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which grants additional rights including access, correction, erasure, and data portability), which apply alongside, not instead of, this Policy. To exercise any such rights, contact [email protected].

6. How Long We Keep Your Data

AI screening images are not retained after your result is generated. Expert review records are retained in accordance with applicable medical records legislation for your jurisdiction. Our reviewing dermatologist maintains clinical records as required under applicable professional practice guidelines. You may request access to or deactivation of your records at any time by contacting [email protected].

7. Security

We protect your information using SSL/TLS encryption in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe and we do not store card details. Access to health records is restricted to licensed clinicians involved in your care.

8. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your data. Your information is only shared with the reviewing dermatologist assigned to your case, and with third-party processors (Stripe for payments, our cloud hosting provider) under strict data processing agreements.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections, ask how your information has been used, and lodge a complaint. To exercise these rights, contact [email protected]. If you are unsatisfied with our response and are located in Australia, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au; users in other jurisdictions may contact their local privacy regulator.

10. Children

Our service is intended for users 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from minors without parental consent.

11. Changes to This Policy

We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
